Safety

The MMIC funds and promotes motorcycle and scooter rider training and safety research. In particular, the MMIC provides logistical and financial support for recognized rider training programs across Canada.

Environment

Motorcycles and scooters distributed by MMIC member companies meet all Environment Canada and Transport Canada emission standards. The industry is committed to reducing motorcycle and scooter exhaust emissions using the best available technology economically achievable.

Sound Emissions

MMIC member companies’ products meet all Transport Canada sound emission standards. The industry is working with provincial ministries to develop consistent sound emission policies across the country. The industry is committed to continue to reduce sound emissions.

Fuel Efficiency

Motorcycles and scooters are one of the most fuel-efficient forms of transportation available. The industry is committed to further increasing fuel-efficiency and developing new technology to benefit consumers.

Socially Responsible

Motorcycles and scooters use less resources, have less impact on infrastructure, take up less space and are a safe and affordable means of transportation. Motorcycles and scooters can be operated by people of all ages, various levels of physical fitness and by people of all income levels. Riding a motorcycle or scooter is a healthy, inclusive, socially responsible activity.
