A STRONG 2016 MODEL LINE-UP, POPULAR FEATURES AND GOOD WEATHER RESULTS IN SOLID CROWDS FOR MOTORCYCLE SHOW-TORONTO

TORONTO, ON (February 29, 2016) – The 2016 Motorcycle Show-Toronto presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance, took place at the Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place, February 19 to 21.

The show started with large crowds for the noon opening on Friday. Many enthusiasts took advantage of the good weekend weather to ride their bikes to the show and enjoy the free motorcycle parking. This, plus several popular features, and consumer interest in the strong line-up of new 2016 models resulted in over 29,000 people attending the three-day show – an increase of 5% over 2015.

Friday night featured She Rides Nite, with half-price tickets for ladies after 5:00 PM, free parking for all and highlighted by a prize give-away of a brand new 2016 Kawasaki Ninja, provided by Canadian Kawasaki, Snow City Cycle and Ready Powersports.

In addition to the 500+ motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and scooters on display, there was plenty for show-goers to see and do all weekend long.

Team Empire wowed the crowds with their unique and exciting stunt demonstrations, and the OPP’s precision riding team, The Golden Helmets, drew rave reviews from fans all weekend long.

For the first time at the Toronto show, Harley-Davidson’s “Jumpstart” display revved-up crowds as they were able to feel the engine fire-up and hear that unforgettable sound.

BMW Motorrad debuted their new VR riding experience, Eye Ride,  allowing participants to enjoy all of the fabulous reasons to ride – the view, the sound, the feeling…on-road, off-road and at the race track.

The always popular Yamaha Riding Academy was busy providing kids 6 – 12 years old with an opportunity to ride – a first riding experience for many of the children. It was fully booked and busy throughout the weekend sessions. Clinton Smout’s Yamaha “How To” seminars taught riders how to navigate some of the challenging obstacles they might encounter along the way.

The weekend was capped off with our Grand Prize Draw on Sunday afternoon. Thanks to Triumph Motorcycles, GP Bikes and Sturgess Cycles, as well as Q107, our grand prize winner went home with a new 2016 Triumph Street Twin.

Show Manager, Neil Fardy said “Beautiful weather all weekend long sure did encourage the crowds of people to get out and enjoy the show. I really think that everyone, whether they were experienced or new riders were feeling that “itch” to get out on the road.  I know I was. And the chance to win one of the two new motorcycles being awarded on the weekend was certainly a bonus, and a highlight for those attending the show”.
