NEW ‘CLUTCH SOCIETY’ WILL CELEBRATE THE CUSTOM MOTO
CULTURE AT 2020 TORONTO MOTORCYCLE SHOW
Show Partners with Moto Community Leader Dan Lim of The Moto Foto
TORONTO (November 27, 2019) – The Toronto Motorcycle Show presented by NFP, today announced a new major feature called Clutch Society, that will celebrate the best of the indie custom motorcycle culture when the show rides into the Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place, February 21-23.
Inspired by the distinct gritty, rugged and raw feel of the home garage, Clutch Society will be THE gathering place at the show, where riders of all levels, riding styles and backgrounds can refuel with friends, while checking out amazing custom bikes and connecting with builders, indie brands and artists. In true custom-style, it will reflect the “built by hand and bought with pride” philosophy, with an authentic and grassroots approach that enthusiasts can experience together, while they hang out, order a drink, talk bikes and get revved up for the next riding season.
The GTA is one of the main hubs for this new wave of riders in Canada, and the Toronto Motorcycle Show has partnered with one of the community’s leaders to bring Clutch Society to life – Dan Lim of The Moto Foto.
A professional fashion and lifestyle photographer, and avid member of the Toronto moto scene, Lim will bring his spirit and passion for the culture and community to this new show-within-a-show concept.
“Clutch Society will be a motorcycle culture gathering place. We want to introduce and share our vibrant, inclusive, and friendly moto community with other GTA and Southern Ontario motorcycle enthusiasts who may not know about it,” said Lim, who has traveled the world capturing the essence of motorcyclists, and their authenticity, love for the community and their bikes. “We’re going to create a social experience that highlights some of the best of this lifestyle in a welcoming, fun, chill and engaging environment. It’s going to be something very different, and you’ll know it when you walk into Clutch Society.”
The custom motorcycle scene is trending across Canada and its popularity shows no signs of slowing down. Manufacturers, independent builders, lifestyle brands and artists are all introducing new bikes, new concepts, new gear and new accessories to this growing demographic of riders, who don’t mind getting their hands dirty in order to build a special kind of ride, suited to their unique tastes and preferences.
“The Toronto Motorcycle Show has earned its reputation as the only manufacturers’ show in Ontario, showcasing the new models and features for riders of all ages and experience. But at the same time, we recognize that the market is hungry for even more, and this desire for change and evolution is the driving force behind this new initiative,” said Toronto Show Manager, Neil Fardy. “Clutch Society will expand our reach and appeal to an even broader audience of enthusiasts. We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with Dan Lim and The Moto Foto to create this unique urban Toronto concept for the GTA riding community. His vision, creativity, professionalism, and connections make him the perfect fit and ideal partner to bring Clutch Society to life.”
Featuring the largest display of 2020 new model motorcycles, scooters, ATVs and side-by-sides, the show’s brand line-up includes Aprilia, BMW Motorrad, Can-Am, Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Honda, Indian, Kawasaki, KTM, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio, Suzuki, Triumph, Vespa and Yamaha.
Enthusiasts will also find the latest in riding apparel, accessories, touring destinations, and other exciting motorcycle lifestyle features like the Yamaha Riding Academy for Kids, “How To Ride” Skills Demos, motorcycle stunt shows, the OPP’s Golden Helmets precision riding team, and She Rides Night – a Friday evening celebration of women who ride, with half-price admission for females after 5 pm. Friday night parking is free for all after 5 pm.
