Greater Vancouver, BC: Winter weather in 2018 won’t slow down riders from all over the province who will once again travel by bus loads to the Vancouver Motorcycle Show, happening January 19 to 21, at Tradex – Fraser Valley Trade and Exhibition Centre in Abbotsford.

Annually clubs and organizations like the Kelowna & District Safety Council (KDSC) send a bus full of dedicated show fans who visit the annual event to not only connect with those sharing the same power sport interests, but also find the newest makes and models of motorcycles as well as the latest products, accessories and technology for the motorcycle lifestyle.

For 13 years, the KDSC has been making the annual pilgrimage to the show with a full bus. KDSC executive director Ayn Lexi says the group they transport often consists of the same faces.

“It’s a great opportunity for people in the Okanagan to head down to the show without having to worry about driving and road conditions and be able to have a fun time with like-minded riders,” she adds.

Show manager Laurie Paetz reports the motorcycle lifestyle is highly social which is likely why the show sees fully-packed buses from places like the Okanagan, Vancouver Island and Kamloops year after year.

“They come from all over to our show. It’s a tradition for so many who understand the Vancouver Motorcycle Show is truly a socially driven experience.”

The Greater Vancouver Motorcycle Club is an almost 100-year-old example of the province’s motorcycle fellowship in action. Celebrating their 96th anniversary in 2018, making them one of the longest-running motorcycle clubs in B.C. with active members who joined as far back as 1955, the club takes part in the show regularly as “attendees share the same passion we do – riding for the pure enjoyment of having the wind on our faces,” says club president Phil Blackburn.

Catering to the social scene and new to the show this year is the show’s featured lifestyle area. The Moto Lifestyle Lounge will have a retro feel that includes everything from custom motorcycles to live music performed by local band Bandida.

Also new this year and presented by Parts Canada is Drag Alley, an entire show area dedicated to industry-leading top aftermarket parts manufacturers like Drag Specialties, Custom Dynamics, Hog Tunes, LA Choppers, S&S Cycle and Rinehart Racing. Each company will also have brand experts ready to answer any and all questions.

Everybody’s favorite, SHE Rides is back for its Fright night premier where the entry fee for ladies is cut in half after 5 pm. Excitingly, one lucky lady on this night will walk away with a brand new 2018 Kawasaki Versys-X 300 ABS courtesy of Canadian Kawasaki. The grand prize draw will take place on Friday evening at 8:30 pm and the winner must be present to win. She will also have to be over 19 years of age and will be required to show valid photo identification upon claiming her prize.
